What to expect at our ER

Patients can drive or take an ambulance to our ER. Upon arrival at our emergency room, you will be seen by a triage nurse who will assess your condition. Our triage nurse ensures patients with the most serious conditions receive priority care. If admission is necessary, our patients are treated in single-bed rooms for their comfort and privacy.

If your emergency is relatively minor, we can reduce your wait times by submitting you to our Fast Track unit. This fully-staffed unit ensures prompt, efficient care for patients with less serious conditions and injuries. The Fast Track unit also provides convenient bedside registration.

Patients can conveniently check in for their ER visit using the Find Care Now portal, provided they are not facing a life-threatening emergency that requires ambulance transport. In such urgent situations, it is crucial to call 911 immediately.

At our emergency room, our patient advocates are dedicated to greeting you and your loved ones, keeping you informed and making you as comfortable as possible. We are equipped with a state-of-the-art sign language computer and language interpretation phone system to ensure we can effectively serve patients with special communication needs.

Additionally, our case managers provide support by addressing questions regarding treatment, insurance, placement, transportation, and other concerns, offering comprehensive assistance to patients and their loved ones.

Connected Care

From emergency evaluation and diagnostic testing through discharge, admission or transfer, our team works to provide coordinated care across the patient’s emergency visit. Pascack Valley Medical Center accepts all major health insurance plans.
