About Sruti Patel, M.D.

Dr. Sruti Patel is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Her care philosophy emphasizes the combination of advanced surgical techniques with a patient-centered approach, ensuring optimal outcomes. She takes the time to understand each patient’s individual needs, allowing her to address both immediate surgical concerns and overall health and well-being.

Driven by a passion for improving patients’ lives, Dr. Patel specializes in hernia repair, gallbladder conditions, and the evaluation of symptoms related to gallstones, providing guidance on prevention, treatment, and recovery. She now performs nearly all procedures using robotic-assisted surgery, a technology she embraces for its ability to enhance precision, reduce recovery time, and improve overall patient outcomes.

Dr. Patel grew up in New Jersey and began her academic journey at New York University, where she studied Biochemistry and Economics. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed her General Surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, followed by a Surgical Critical Care fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital. Her extensive training and hands-on experience enable her to deliver highly skilled, compassionate care to every patient she treats.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling and exploring new restaurants, which provide her with fresh perspectives and opportunities to relax and recharge.

Dr. Patel brings extensive surgical experience to the Pascack Valley Medical Center team. Her warm and approachable demeanor allows her to build strong, trusting relationships with patients, fostering collaboration and confidence throughout the care process.
