About Liby Mathew, M.D.

Liby Mathew, M.D. is an internal medicine physician who provides comprehensive primary care.

She focuses on routine physicals, preventive care, and the diagnosis and management of chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and depression. Dr. Mathew also treats a variety of acute medical concerns and has experience caring for patients throughout the adult lifespan, from young adults to geriatric populations.

Dr. Mathew enjoys working with patients who are motivated to improve their health, and values partnering with them to develop practical, achievable solutions to support long-term wellness. Her care philosophy centers on putting herself in her patients’ place and helping them navigate their health concerns with clear guidance and realistic treatment plans.

She chose the specialty of internal medicine because of its strong emphasis on preventive medicine and the management of chronic disease, as well as the opportunity to care for hospitalized and critically ill patients during her training.

Dr. Mathew earned her medical degree from the University of Pune in Pune, India, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She is fluent in Hindi and Malayalam.

She brings over a decade of experience caring for nursing home patients. Dr. Mathew is dedicated to providing compassionate, attentive care tailored to their unique needs.

She has been recognized for her clinical excellence, including being named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor (2023–2026), a Hudson Valley Top Doctor (2023–2025), and a Hudson Valley Parent Magazine Favorite Doctor (2016–2019).

Outside of work, Dr. Mathew enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
